The OnderWaterSafari is a brand new attraction that lets you duck under the waves without even getting your feet wet! The Netherlands has a unique relationship with water, and is full of coots, frogs, and mosquitos. We know what’s on top of the water, but what about under the surface? And how do things live in protected areas like the Wadden Sea? In a special carriage you’ll be taken on a journey through the fresh water habitats inside the Netherlands, to a special saltwater world in the Wadden Sea.
Have you ever stood eye-to-eye with a venomous animal? You can now at the Natuurmuseum Fryslân! Their newest exhibition, GIF, will show you into the world of poisonous and venomous species from across the world. And, if seeing the animals through glass catches your attention, try out some of the interactive activities on offer. From the puff-adder to the bird-spider, to the giant millipede, each is more venomous than the last! Do you dare?

Are you a real daredevil and especially not afraid of heights? Then you can expend all your energy at Klimcentrum Noardwand (Climbing Center Noardwand). Go for the 11 climbing challenges on the Clip 'n Climb track or opt for an introductory lesson for a real introduction to climbing.

Pigs, chickens, guinea pigs, rabbits, pigeons, donkeys, sheep, ducks, swans, turkeys, peacocks, horses, ponies, goats and parakeets - you'll find them all here. And have you already cuddled up with the animals? Then you can venture on to the large playground for even more fun.
In the Fries Landbouwmuseum (Frisian Agricultural Museum), there is also plenty to discover and experience for children. Have your picture taken with a real tractor, solve puzzles and answer questions on a treasure hunt through the museum. Or experience what it's like to milk a cow.

Miniature People LeeuwardenMiniature People Leeuwarden
Look for the tiniest residents in the city! What started out as an artistic expression has turned ioto one of the best routes for walking, with (or without) kids! In some of the most special places throughout the city centre, you will encounter these miniature scenes less than 2 cm in height. Wander through the streets and small alleys and look for these miniature Liwadders (people of Leeuwarden).
Climb the OldehoveClimb the Oldehove
De Oldehove is the icon of Leeuwarden. This leaning tower was built in 1529, is more than 40 meters high and the top of the tower is displaced almost two meters horizontally. The tower is open to the public daily from April to the end of October. Climb the 183 steps to the top for a fantastic view of the city.

This walking route is for real sleuths. Follow the route, find the clues and solve the mystery. Along the way, you will of course look around you extensively and discover the city. At the end of the route, you will know who committed the murder and which weapon the perpetrator used... Exciting! The mysterious murder route is fun for children aged 12 and older.
