Shopping in Leeuwarden
Fun!
Do you enjoy shopping? At the biggest fashion brands? In diverting pop-up stores? Or do you live to find unique items and hand-made gifts in the best boutiques? In the historic centre of Leeuwarden, you can find all of this and more! The big-name brands, pretty boutiques, and Frisian specialities all sit side-by side in the centre of the city. The Kleine Kerkstraat is well worth a detour, too, having been named the most lovely shopping street in the Netherlands.
Near the Oldehove tower, you’ll find the Frisian speciality store Ut Streekie. If you’d like to wander through the most picturesque streets in the city, head to the Naauw, the Sint Jacobsstraat, and the Kelders. Fancy a break from shopping? Look out for the various (and widespread) terraces overlooking waterways across the centre of the city, or for one of the tasty cafes. There’s no excuse not to shop til you drop!
