Bring an ode to the landscape around Jelsum and Koarnjum with the ‘Van State tot Stek’ experience walk! On the way, you will receive information about many cultural-historical landscape features from a road map with QR codes.

The walk starts and ends at the entrance to the Dekema State building in Jelsum. Under high skies, the 5-kilometer walk leads through extensive meadows of the old salt marsh and mounds landscape along Martenastate in Koarnjum. These centuries-old Frisian noble country estates are surrounded by beautiful parks and gardens, which are worth a visit. The special Stinzen flora blooms here in early spring. Along the way, you will see all kinds of traces of states, mounds and old ditches. You can learn more about this special cultural-historical landscape by scanning the QR codes on the road map. Once you have scanned the code, you will find a link with extra information which can be read at a later time so you can fully enjoy the walk.

The route map with QR codes is available for €4 at the entrance of the Dekema State building. There is ample parking for small bicycles as well as cars.
