Team Leeuwarden City Walk

Guided tour

yearly

City walk led by an experienced guide through the oldest part of Leeuwarden, a former royal city. Duration is approximately 1½ hours.

The guide from Team Leeuwarden City Walks will lead you through the oldest part of our royal city.
Along the way, the guide will point out beautiful façades, special landmarks and share their fascinating stories. We’ll stroll through the most charming shopping street in the Netherlands, pass the tile tableau of Marijke Meu (Princess of Europe), visit her residence and workplace, “climb” the terps (ancient mounds) and stand on the highest point of the city. We’ll wander through hidden gardens, admire remarkable trees, and see where Mata Hari once lived and where Maurits Escher was born — and so much more!

A walk of approximately 1.2 km, lasting about 1½ hours.

This city walk can be booked at any time and on any day of the week.
Reservations can be made via our website or last minute by phone.
