De Prinsentuin The green heart
The green heart of Leeuwarden offers an oasis of peace for both residents and visitors. The park was created by Prince Frederik of Nassau as a tribute to the Eighty Years’ War. And although the park was closed to the public for almost 150 years, King Willem I decided to gift it to the people of Leeuwarden. Something we are still gratefully enjoying to this very day. Thank you, Willem!
