Friday = market day! Every Friday afternoon, Wilhelminaplein is lively: a melange of wonderful scents and pleasant shouts rise above the dozens of stalls. From 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM, this is the square to be for all your weekly shopping needs, a quick bite for lunch, or even just a kilo of cheese. You can also get a beautiful bouquet of flowers for yourself or a loved one. On Saturday, there is a smaller version of the Friday market. On Nieuwestad, you will find a selection of market stalls, perfect for your last-minute weekend shopping in Leeuwarden
Also handy: directly under Wilhelminaplein is the Zaailand car park. You won’t have to carry your shopping bags too far then.
