Living Library
Unknown makes unloved. In Living Library, participants engage in conversations with people who, for whatever reason, are far removed from them. For example, because they fought as a soldier in a war, or because they are autistic, or grew up in a family that sympathized with the Germans during the Second World War.
Humane books
Just like in a library, the Frisian Resistance Museum lends out books; humane books. Use our books to discuss your prejudices and explore similarities and differences. But don't damage the book. You can ask anything, but answers are not required. The personal conversations often result in mutual understanding and empathy, prejudices diminish or even disappear. Attention giving
In addition to borrowing living books, visitors to the Leeuwarden Liberation Festival can also quench their thirst for free in the garden of the Princessehof, where not only tea but also attention is given. Visitors are welcome for a chat and genuine interest.
