Leeuwarden Lounge
The Leeuwarden Lounge is a family business, founded by the Hashemi family. The family came to the Netherlands from Afghanistan in the early 1990s. From Tytsjerk they ended up in Leeuwarden. Here they wanted to show something of their culture to the residents of Leeuwarden and the surrounding area. And what better way to do that than through food? The idea of opening a restaurant arose. Son Tarek went into the kitchen with mom Hashemi and together they put together a delicious menu with all kinds of small dishes. A number of oriental dishes were combined with favorite Afghan family recipes.

Almost 7 years have passed and the Leeuwarden Lounge has become a household name in the city and the province. Many people know where to find the restaurant for a meal, a drink or a fun party. In addition, the Leeuwarden Lounge is now specialized in catering. From weddings to family parties and drinks. Especially during the weekend, the Lounge is also a popular place to have a drink later in the evening with a tasty snack and possibly a Shisha (water pipe).
