On 25 November 1587, Stadholder Willem Lodewijk married his cousin, Anna van Oranje.
The Stadholder's Court in Leeuwarden became their home. As a result, Leeuwarden became Hofstad.
Marvel at a true and sensational love story. Willem and Anna were childhood sweethearts and first cousins.
The fathers opposed their marriage, but love prevailed.
They still haunt Friesland and scare "the people" for entertainment.
