A city walk led by an experienced guide through the oldest part of Leeuwarden, the former royal residence. The duration is approximately 1½ hours.
The guide from Stadswandelingen (city walks) leads you through the oldest part of our royal city. The guide points out beautiful façades, special locations and gives you information about them. We walk through the most charming shopping street in the Netherlands, go past the tile tableau of Marijke Meu (Princess of Europe), her residential and working palace, 'climb' the mounds and stand on the highest point in the city, wander through lovely inner gardens and past remarkable trees. You will also see where Mata Hari lived and the birthplace of Maurits Escher, and much more — far too much to list here!
A walk of approximately 1.2 km, lasting around 1½ hours.
