Future of the past
until 24 August
What remains when we aren't here anymore?
Automatic storage, in the cloud, offline. We store a lot these days in a digital landscape where there is still so much to explore. What do we want left of us when we will soon be gone? Does that ever-growing digital archive affect us?
Based on questions like these, Marije Miedema, PhD student at the University of Groningen, interviewed 24 visitors to Netwerk Centrum De Klomp in Leeuwarden. A place where everyone is always welcome and steps inside. Whoever you are, wherever you come from, wherever you want to go. Collective PLOECH AND EIDE turned this material into short monologues, about the traces a human life makes. Six diverse characters talk about what they want to take with them and what they want to leave behind.
Mees van den Bergh devised the concept and directs.
