Great or Jacobin Church
The Grote or Jacobijnerkerk is the oldest and architecturally most important church in Leeuwarden.
For more than seven centuries, people have been meeting in this impressive monument. Upon entering, the beautiful combination of modern furnishings and centuries-old elements surprises, such as the tombs of Frisian Nassaus in the choir, the 17th-century pulpit, and the famous Müller organ from 1724–1727.
The Grote or Jacobijnerkerk is used for a wide range of activities such as conferences, concerts, symposia, meetings, lectures, and parties. The exceptionally atmospheric and flexibly configurable space, together with the available ancillary rooms, makes the Grote or Jacobijnerkerk an extraordinarily attractive location for events of various sizes.
