Fermentation and Stories Have you always wanted to know how to make a sourdough starter, or what kombucha actually is? Come to the food workshops at the Folkscafé.
This edition focuses on the culture and culinary traditions of Ukraine. While the jars are bubbling away, there’s plenty of opportunity to talk about food, soil, grain, resilience, and whatever else comes to the table.
The Folkscafé is part of the Great Folks Festival. After the workshops, the Folks Kitchen: Ukraine begins, where host Sophia Kostiuchyk and chef Viktoriia Tkach share more about Ukraine’s culture, cuisine, music, and poetry during dinner.
