Let yourself be carried away by the magical sounds of international folk music. Singing duo The Lasses bring their enchanting harmonies to the Dorpskerk Huizum!

The renowned Amsterdam singing duo The Lasses, consisting of Sophie Janna and Margot Merah, bring an afternoon of international folk music to the Dorpskerk Huizum. Their music, inspired by Irish, Scottish and American traditions, blends beautiful harmonies with intimate, original songs.

Sophie and Margot first discovered their shared love of singing at Mulligans, an Irish music pub in Amsterdam. Since then, they have toured the world, enchanting audiences in Scotland, the United States and Japan. Their fifth album, Near Far, is a tribute to the Scottish folk tradition, featuring both traditional and contemporary ballads. Janos Koolen provides the atmospheric arrangements and instrumental accompaniment, joined by Stijn van Beek on low whistle and uilleann pipes. At the heart of their music lies the harmony of their voices — perfectly balanced and beautifully intertwined.
