Dutch/Frisian Championships of Pimped-Out Stilt Walking at De Harmonie

July 5 Championship ‘pimped’ Stilt Walking
With these anniversary activities, Circus Saranti wants to offer the youth of Leeuwarden a gift with a possible lasting memory. That is why on July 5 around 3:00 PM, immediately after the parade 'Vreemde Vogels' (‘Strange Birds‘), and for the first time in history, the Dutch/Frisian championships pimped stilt walking will be held in the city theater De Harmonie!

Can you STILT WALK on wooden, iron or blocks and are you completely pimped? Then this is your chance to show your talent on a real catwalk for a three-person jury and perhaps you will be the very first Champion ‘Pimped’ Stilt Walking!

If you don't have stilts, we have a set of wooden stilts or cans for you. The theme is 'Strange Birds'!
There are two age categories 
Category I: 4 to 6 years
Category II: 7 to 13 years

Participation is FREE.

The most beautiful decoration and the most agile stilt walkers will be judged. There is also a special prize to be won for the winners. In addition to a silver 2nd and bronze 3rd prize, the winner will receive 'The Golden Saranticlown on Stilts' and may call themselves the Dutch and Frisian champion of 'pimped' stilt walking!
The jury consists of the deputy of Friesland, Mr. Sybe Knol, the director of the Harmonie, Siart Smit and Kitty Hagen, director of Circus Fantasia. The prizes are awarded by Saranti's patron, the mayor of Leeuwarden, Mr. Sybrand Buma.

The championship is FREE for everyone to come and watch because in addition to the championship there are fun activities such as circus workshops, face painting and there is a balloon artist.
It is not a sport, not a culture. It is circus and YOU MATTER!
