Circus parade 'Vreemde Vogels' on stilts

Circus Saranti presents Circus Parade "Vreemde Vogels' ('Strange Birds') through the center of Leeuwarden on July 5
On Saturday 5 July, a spectacular stilt-walking circus parade will set off from Bouwurk, the Arcadia hub near the Oldehove. At exactly 1:00 pm, the colourful procession will begin its route through the historic city centre of Leeuwarden. The vibrant group of Vreemde Vogels (Strange Birds) will be musically accompanied by the youth orchestra Takostu from Stiens. Among the parade are impressive stilt walkers — including walking trees, curious birds, and majestic white horses. Even a replica of the Golden Carriage will make an appearance.In addition to the performers of Circus Saranti, the parade features contributions from youth circuses Okidoki (Meppel) and Santelli (Groningen).
The route runs from Oldehove to Nieuwstad – Wirdumerdijk – Wilhelminaplein – Ruiterskwartier, ending at De Harmonie Theatre.
