Children will dive into the theme of sustainable eating through fun, hands-on activities. They’ll complete different challenges using all their senses to make conscious choices — choices that are good for people, animals and the planet. By the end of the evening, every child will have crafted their very own “conscious burger” as a “conscious citizen.”

To support this, the Natuurmuseum has developed a special Sustainable Food Wheel, inspired by the Dutch Schijf van Vijf (Five Food Groups). Each section introduces children to a new way to eat more sustainably — such as replacing meat with seaweed or insects, eating seasonal produce, choosing local products, and reusing leftovers to make something new. There’s even space for creative, forward-thinking ideas like growing vegetables in vertical towers or creating food with a 3D printer. And of course, there will be something to taste — if you dare!
