Verhalenavond
until 21 November
On Verhalenavond, all of Friesland comes together to listen to stories. Stories told in living rooms, museums, cafés, government buildings, libraries, at clubs and companies. You have a story too.
Everyone has a story. During Verhalenavond, every story finds a listening ear. You do not need to deliver a literary performance; simply tell a story as you would to someone you know. Things that happened, experiences you have had, something you know about the area, or something not everyone is aware of.
Theme of Verhalenavond: “A Time When I Was Brave”
This year, the Visitor Center will host two remarkable speakers: Henk Rigter, who shares a shocking experience from a journey through Africa, and Roos Ykema, who speaks about her humanitarian mission to Gaza and the kidnapping that followed. Henk shares his story from 7:00–7:15 PM and again from 7:30–7:45 PM. Roos speaks from 7:15–7:30 PM and again from 8:00–8:15 PM.
More stories across Leeuwarden
In addition to these two powerful stories, many more storytellers can be heard throughout Leeuwarden during Verhalenavond. The full programme can be found here: https://verhalenavond.nl/lijst/
