Grab a drink, explore hidden corners of the museum and let yourself be surprised by everything going on around you. Dive into the world of King Redbad and step back into the Middle Ages. Play the REDBAD game by Mythemakers, have your hair braided Viking-style and create your own shiny medieval jewellery inspired by centuries-old brooches.
Leeuwarden’s legendary music venue Neushoorn has lined up some great DJs in the entrance hall, guaranteed to get you on the dance floor.

Prefer something more contemporary? Join one of the fast-paced speed tours and discover highlights from the contemporary art exhibitions. Among them is the film installation by Tina Farifteh, known from the new VPRO series Tina in Sexbierum. In this new documentary series, the Iranian-Dutch artist moves from Amsterdam to the Frisian village of Sexbierum, where she sets out to forge genuine connections with the local community. Her installation can be found on the third floor, alongside Robert Zandvliet’s highly Instagrammable work.
