Churches and Monasteries Walking Tour

The walk takes you past a number of well-known churches and former monasteries, including the Grote or Jacobijnerkerk, Westerkerk and St Bonifatius Church. Smaller and lesser-known places of worship are also given their due.
These include the Synagogue, the Lutheran Church, the Walloon Church and the Mennonite Church on Wirdumerdijk. This fascinating walk reveals much about Leeuwarden’s rich history.
Naturally, you’ll also hear the story of the Oldehove – including why a church was never built alongside this famous tower.
