We have our fair share of illegally and legally applied works of art in public spaces here. Think of stickers, posters, graffiti, and murals. In the city center alone, you can discover more than 70 (!) works. We offer the Street Art Tour in 3 different ways:

1. Public Street Art Free Tour with Guide: In June and July 2026 we offer every sunday At 14:00 PM, a public Street Art Tour is on offer. These tours start at the entrance of the Fries Museum. A guide can tell you all the stories behind the works and, of course, knows where to find the latest new pieces. You will hear the latest news and also see the hidden new works. This is a Free Tour. You do not need to pay anything in advance. After the tour, you can decide for yourself what you think it was worth. Register in advance!

2. Private Street Art Tour with a guide: You can book a private tour every day of the week to discover the most beautiful street art with your own guide. A guide can tell you all the stories behind the works and, of course, knows where to find the latest new pieces. A private tour can be booked all year round. We offer standard tours of 1,5 hours, which cost 84 euros per guide. You can on the website of A Guide to Leeuwarden book a tour directly. 

3. Street Art Map: You can also discover the street art in Leeuwarden yourself with our Street Art Map. This A3 map contains 1 do-it-yourself walking tour and 2 DIY bike tours past the most beautiful street art in Leeuwarden and costs only 4 euros. The map is available for purchase at the Leeuwarden Visitor Center, the Fries Museum, and De Torenwachter. You can also get explanations about the artworks via the QR code on the map.
