Oldehove Glow-up - Silent Book Club

A silent book club at the top of the Oldehove? Yes, really. On the mornings of 17 July and 9 August, you’re invited to climb Leeuwarden’s iconic leaning tower, grab a coffee and lose yourself in a good book while enjoying an hour of uninterrupted peace.
The Silent Book Club by Tresoar, Annie’s Boekenclub voor sukkels, Fer Koffie and Visit Leeuwarden is taking reading to new heights. Join us for a giant silent book club at the top of Leeuwarden’s iconic leaning tower, the Oldehove.
The Oldehove opens at 9:30 am. A lift takes you to the first floor, but the final climb to the roof is by stairs only. Once you’re at the top, grab a coffee from Fer Koffie and find your perfect reading spot.
From 10:00 am to 11:00 am, everyone reads in complete silence. A few beanbags will be available, but feel free to bring your own picnic blanket, folding chair, stool or comfy cushion.
After the silent reading hour…

After the silent reading hour, there’s time to finish your chapter, chat with fellow book lovers or enjoy another coffee while taking in the view. The event ends at 12:00 pm.
Good to know: Admission is free. The event is not wheelchair accessible, and space is limited to 45 participants, so make sure to arrive early. A toilet is available on the ground floor.
