No more waiting for the legendary Tocht der Tochten – with the Camper Elfstedentocht, you can travel the famous Eleven Cities route all year round. A special route has been created to let you discover Friesland in a unique way. You’ll find everything you need to know about the route on camperelfstedentocht.nl, along with plenty of tips for the best places to visit in all eleven cities.
Motorhome travellers can pick up a stamp card at any of the eleven stamping points. Where you start, when you set off and how long you take is entirely up to you. Collect a stamp in each of the eleven cities and, once your card is complete, you’ll be in with a chance of winning some great prizes.

Through camperelfstedentocht.nl and the newsletter, participants receive plenty of tips on things to see and do in the eleven cities, from the eleven fountains and interesting shops and restaurants to walking and cycling routes, activities and much more.
Participants can also enjoy a range of special treats and offers, including Frisian rye bread, dippers and toast from Van der Meulen, a complimentary Sonnema Berenburg in Bolsward and special offers at Brouwerij Dockum. At Jumbo Els Broek Zuiderburen in Leeuwarden, participants who spend €25 or more and show their stamp card receive a free traditional Frisian suikerbrood from Tije de Boer.
Don’t have your own motorhome? You can hire one from Goboony or Aversch Campers and still take part in the Camper Elfstedentocht.
The Maarten van der Weijden Foundation has become inextricably linked with the Elfstedentocht. In 2019, Maarten van der Weijden swam the entire Eleven Cities route to raise money for his foundation, and the Camper Elfstedentocht continues to support its work. For every completed stamp card, a donation is made to the Maarten van der Weijden Foundation. Participants can also make their own donation through the fundraising page on the Camper Elfstedentocht website: camperelfstedentocht.nl/goed-doel.
The Camper Elfstedentocht is an initiative of Camperplaats Leeuwarden, in partnership with Camping De Domp in Sneek, Camping Sudersé in Workum, Camping de Zeehoeve in Harlingen and Camperplaats Stavoren. Around fifty other businesses are also involved, helping to give visitors a unique way to experience Friesland’s famous Eleven Cities.
