Origination
Jan-Dirk van Ravesteijn spent three years researching the life and love of the Frisian stadtholder, Willem Lodewijk van Nassau, at home and abroad. He wanted to know more about the woman behind this man. And he wanted to know how their love for each other had come about and what the family thought of it. Because the marriage between this cousin and cousin was called a blood sin.
After three years of research and writing, all scenes were written together on a mountain in Austria. Relativity at its greatest.
Beautiful music was written for it. With a classic shade.
Played in Het Stadhouderlijk Hof in Leeuwarden. The place where it really happened.
