countertenor, oboe / recorder, viola da gamba & harpsichord / recorder
Music by Henry Purcell, Daniel Purcell and Tobias Hume.
Musica Gloria takes us back to 17th-century England, to the world of brothers Daniel and Henry Purcell, for an anthology of vocal and instrumental gems. In addition to music from The Fairy Queen and Oh Solitude, lesser-known works will also be featured.

The Purcell brothers (or were they cousins?) attended the same choir, were both musically active in London as adults and regularly composed together. When Henry died tragically at a young age, Daniel masterfully completed his opera The Indian Queen.
Musica Gloria is a young, sparkling baroque ensemble of the highest calibre, led by Beniamino Paganini and Nele Vertommen.
Musica Gloria focuses on the Baroque music repertoire and adapts the instrumentation, historical instruments and performance practice to its carefully curated programmes.
