Open air concert Marinierskapel

An evening full of spectacle in the Prinsentuin! Sint Anthoon presents a concert for everyone: the world-renowned Marinierskapel der Koninklijke Marine (Marine Band of the Royal Netherlands Navy) will give a unique open-air performance in the city park Prinsentuin, with special guest appearances by trumpeter Eric Vloeimans and Latin singer Denise Rivera. The Marine Band is famous for their breathtaking performances, from classical to popular music — they’ll quite literally blow you away! It promises to be an unforgettable evening.

Guest performances by Eric Vloeimans and Denise Rivera

Eric Vloeimans is an improvising trumpeter and composer who finds the term ‘jazz’ too restrictive for his music. His work is characterized by a melodic and lyrical power, and a characteristic, individual sound that is called velvety or whispering in the more subdued pieces. His motto is: ‘I make music for millions, but I haven’t reached them all yet’. One thing is certain: on Saturday 17 June he will have a few more listeners!

Denise Rivera is a Latin singer with a unique, warm voice and a great passion for music. Born in Bolivia, raised in Spain and the US, and has been in the Netherlands for years now. In fact: she lives in Leeuwarden! With her Latin music she performs all over the country, even for royalty and politicians: Denise is a true Latina in heart and soul. On Saturday June 17th she will bring the Latin vibes to life together with the Marinierskapel!
