Exhibition Reflections: Bouchier, Henk Krist, Maartje Strik

Exhibitions

until 25 January

In the exhibition Reflecties, Ton Bouchier, Henk Krist and Maartje Strik explore three themes close to their hearts: Outdoors, Music and Family.

Three artists who have long held a familiar place within Galerie De Roos van Tudor return with an exhibition that revolves — both literally and figuratively — around reflection.

In the exhibition Reflecties, Ton Bouchier, Henk Krist and Maartje Strik explore three themes close to their hearts: Outdoors, Music and Family.

Ton Bouchier presents new works in pastel. Particularly striking in his contribution is The Pianist. Instead of the familiar male figures, he has now depicted a woman intensely absorbed in her playing at the piano.

Henk Krist paints his surroundings, the people around him and a sense of melancholy in his own distinctive style. One of his works is a deeply moving portrait, which, through its light tones, conveys a delicate and tender presence.

Maartje Strik’s new work is based on interpretations of memories — memories that resonate like an echo or challenge the past tense. She guides the viewer through colourful reflections and observations in oil paint and pastel, with paintings and drawings emerging on the boundary between intuition and the unpredictable nature of memory.

The exhibition Reflecties opens on Sunday 23 November at 4:00 pm, in the presence of the artists. Everyone is warmly invited to discover the exhibition together with them and to experience how past, imagination and emotion intertwine.
