23 May until 7 August

To become a better spy than Mata Hari – that is not so difficult. But to receive a real spy passport, you must first prove yourself. Follow the treasure hunt, solve the puzzles and prove that you work cleverly.

This event is part of 150 Years of Mata Hari. This anniversary year is celebrated in Leeuwarden with art, dance, theatre, parties, exhibitions, tours, and much more. The programme runs from May 23 to August 7 (Mata Hari’s birthday) and can be found here.

Are you always the one who finds the perfect birthday and Sinterklaas presents? Do you solve puzzles faster than your parents? And can you sneak to the candy jar and back without being noticed? Then we’ve got good news for you: you’re a born spy!

From May 23 onwards, you can pick up your spy passport at the Leeuwarden Visitor Center, opposite the Oldehove (yes, the one that leans quite a bit, smartypants). Inside your passport, you’ll find ten locations where ten puzzles await. Only when you’ve solved them all and cracked the code will you earn an official spy stamp in your passport!

Good luck, recruit!
