On Saturday 24 May, Wilhelminaplein in Leeuwarden will be transformed into a circus festival!
CIRCUS SARANTI CELEBRATES 65TH ANNIVERSARY WITH PROJECT ‘LEEUWARDEN ON STILTS’
This year, Circus Saranti presents its project LOS25 “Leeuwarden on stilts. You matter!”. The finale will be a special stilt parade “Strange birds” through the historic centre of Leeuwarden on Saturday 5 July. The foyer of the Harmonie will be the stage for the Dutch/Frisian championships for pimped stilt walking for children aged 7 to 13 on the same day.

The start of Saranti’s anniversary project “LOS25” is on 24 May. In collaboration with the Fries Straatfestival, the circus will open the doors of a special circus tent on Wilhelminaplein.

Here, at 1:00 pm, 2:00 pm, 3:00 pm and 4:00 pm, performances from the circus show ‘Pirantasia’ will be given and you can participate in circus workshops or have your face painted by Kwisje Kwasje. There will also be beautifully dressed stilt walkers and a balloon artist. In this way, everyone can get to know the “secrets” and excitement of circus life all afternoon long.
Admission is free.
