On this city walk, you will hear stories about the history of slavery in Leeuwarden.
On Saturday, July 4, at 14:00 PM, join a guide from A Guide to Leeuwarden to search for traces of Leeuwarden's slavery past. Where is this still truly visible, for example in paintings or buildings? Our guides tell the stories behind properties where people lived who had an interest in slavery, and also show where protests were directed against it.
Start: Our tours start next to the entrance of the Leeuwarden Visitor Center, Heer Ivostraatje 1. This is at the foot of the Oldehoofsterkerkhof, the square with the leaning tower, the Oldehove. The walk lasts 1,5 hours.
Price: This is a 'Free Tour'. At the end of the tour, you can decide for yourself what you think the tour is worth by making a voluntary contribution!
