A year ago, eight Frisian acts started GRONDSLAG, a talent development program by Friesland Pop. Now, after months of coaching, growth and experimenting, it is time for the grand finale. On Sunday 25 May, these acts will show their acquired skills during the last showcase of the program. From 16:00 Neushoorn opens its doors, and everyone is invited to come and see the eight talented Frisian acts:
The boys from Be My Guest make hard rock for softies. Punky drums, fuzzy riffs and catchy hooks, supported by introspective lyrics by songwriter Dae ten Veen. From different musical backgrounds, Be My Guest floats in its own place between pop, rock and indie, with a list of inspirations, including, but not limited to, the entire QotSA catalogue, one specific Ben Howard song, and all the British bands your dad listens to.

The tracks of BigBeefSauce are soaked with American trap influences, combined with both melodic and rough elements. Together with DJ/producer Exmore, the rapper forms a duo that is
known for their energetic live performances. Honest, open music that offers a glimpse into the lives
of young adults in Friesland. Expect a performance full of powerful beats, sincere lyrics and
unparalleled energy.
All aboard with Captain J. Wright and let yourself sail on their adventurous indie soul. Narrative,
dreamy lyrics interwoven with the zeitgeist of the 60s and 70s. Expect warm, cozy sounds
paired with a dynamic rhythm section and a playful hint of psychedelia.
The idiosyncratic Floor Bruystens gives her thoughts a place within our great
universe with her music. She does this with her band, and together they transform the room into a space for reflection. The
music sounds like a refreshing meeting of different genres. With influences from Laura
Marling and Hayley Hendrickx, they create an original sound that travels along on poetic lyrics and
makes unspoken words audible.
Wervelwind GraafLandgraaf makes alternative rock/punk, combined with a touch of rap, sweet
sounds and a good dose of noise. With their witty lyrics, the band draws attention to socially
cutting topics, in which mental health, exploitation, violence and other fun things are discussed. With a big dose of fuzz, pitched bass, pounding drums, surprisingly false saxophone and
inexhaustible energy, the circus is complete.
The outspoken Lis drags you along singing (and rapping) in a sassy atmosphere that she, with her infectious
energy and self-confident attitude, effortlessly creates. Her catchy lyrics take you on a
sensational rollercoaster of stories, which makes you end up in an unashamed bubble of
connection. Experience it yourself and immerse yourself in the enchanting pink world of Lis.
Nachtvlinder is a singer-songwriter, illustrator and outsider. With her alternative country songs and black and white illustrations she goes on a journey of discovery through her inner world. Along the way she takes you along high peaks, deep valleys, dark sides and strange creatures. Listen with bated breath to the cocoons that Nachtvlinder spins for you, and in which you can settle down to catch your breath. Away from the outside world, which can sometimes be so angry. The now notorious rock-’n-rollers of PULSE know how to throw a sick party in every venue. The band combines different styles, ranging from the Stones to Herman Brood, Black Sabbath, Nirvana and the Sex Pistols. An energetic mix of rock, grunge, punk and rock-’n-roll, which forms into a unique sound. From warm indie soul to hip hop, rock 'n' roll and hard punk: the very-very-last GRONDSLAG
showcase of the year promises to be a versatile evening, full of new Frisian talent. You really don't want to miss this. Come support a new generation of artists on Sunday 25 May in Neushoorn. Admission
is free. See you then!
