Siri Thornhill regularly enthrals audiences and critics alike, who praise her for her “razor-sharp coloratura” and her “beautifully balanced Mozart register artistry”.
The soprano gives concerts with renowned conductors and ensembles and performs at numerous festivals, such as the Halle Handel Festival, the Bruges Early Music Festival, the Sydney Festival, the Esterhazy Haydn Festival and the Leipzig Bach Festival. She sang Bach's St Matthew Passion under Iván Fischer at the Konzerthaus Berlin, was engaged for Diego Fasolis' Christmas Oratorio and sang concerts in the Netherlands with the Concertgebouw Chamber Orchestra under Gijs Leenaars.
The Apollo Ensemble consists of highly motivated musicians who see music as a life force. From more than five centuries of music history, from Monteverdi to Stravinsky, we select the most beautiful chamber music and give pieces new expressiveness. Our repertoire is versatile and surprising, ranging from Bach to Brazilian opera. We give concerts at home and abroad, hold the annual Apollo Zomeracademie (Apollo Summer Academy) and organise Festival Via Musica, a chamber music festival that takes place in Flevoland in August.
