On Wednesday 14 May, we’re swinging back and forth between readings, songs, performances, and more! Host Sander Koning guides you through a revolving evening across multiple stages.
No need to wait for the weekend – this night brings a one-man band, funky grooves, and unexpected treats.

Douwe Dijkstra presents a first preview of his new performance, a Popfabryk project. Alexander Moto, a born storyteller, surprises with raw boombap beats and intimate songs in Dutch and Frisian. What exactly he’s bringing remains a secret – but with a second album on the way, he’s always zig-zag-plotting something new.

Nicole van den Berg reads a “relatively long short story” (published in the anthology Uitgesteld Geluk) about two men sitting in an overgrown backyard. Still not enough to shake up your week? Poet Richard Nobbe opens and closes the evening with perfectly fitting verses.

DREAM MACHINE
This evening is part of DREAM MACHINE, a mini-festival at De Harmonie from 14–18 May.
Each day features a different theme, performances, and side events. The Middenzaal is the meeting place and beating heart of the festival.

The program is diverse – from Frisian to international, from acclaimed companies to new makers, including the interactive meemaakpodium. With this mini-festival, De Harmonie spotlights new developments in the performing arts, both nationally and internationally. At the same time, it offers a platform to the makers of tomorrow: talented artists from Leeuwarden who don’t yet have a professional stage – but who dream of one and are ready to take the audience along on that dream.
