The Hippo Brothers play a mix of New York Soul and Latin street music, Soul Jazz with Boogaloo! From the urban hotspot in Amsterdam-West they make the national and international stages unsafe with their chill mix of Soul Jazz and Boogaloo. Armed to the teeth with a solid grooving rhythm section, funky guitar sounds, a growling Hammond organ, and of course a great horn section as the icing on the cake. The result: hipshaking, finger snapping & outright ecstatic dancing audience, that makes you go Wah! And as if that is not enough to bring the room to a new height and boiling point, singer Miss Beulah is also there: just like Sharon Jones of The Dap-Kings not the tallest but with great energy. Her motto is: dynamite comes in small packages! With the Hippo Brothers you know one thing for sure: this concert will stay with you for a long time. Shake that Hippo!
Singer Sanne Hoeksma composes, arranges, writes and currently travels to theaters in the Netherlands and Europe as a vocalist with Pink Floyd Project and is part of the trio The Floydettes with which she also has her own theater program called De Kleedkamer Sessies. In 2014 she founded her own band Senna Black with which she released her last single 'Happily Ever After' in 2017. Together with guitarist Nathaniel van Veenen and Jeffrey Michgelsen she brings her own work from the past and present to light in an acoustic setting.
