Laurens de Man (’s-Hertogenbosch, 1993) became the first organist to win the Dutch Music Prize in 2024. He studied piano, organ, and harpsichord (as a secondary subject) under Jacques van Oortmerssen, David Kuyken, and Johan Hofmann at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam. He continued his studies with Leo van Doeselaar at the Berlin Universität der Künste, completing his Konzertexamen in Organ in 2019 with the highest distinction.

Laurens has won multiple awards as both pianist and organist, at competitions in cities such as Groningen and Freiberg. In 2018, he was awarded the Sweelinck-Muller Prize. As pianist of the Chimaera Trio, he performs and arranges chamber music spanning four centuries and has recorded three CDs with the ensemble. Since 2012, Laurens has served as head organist of the Janskerk in Utrecht, and in the 2022–2023 season, he was “Organist in Residence” at the Contius organ in Leuven.
