Since November 2015, the Wereldwinkel Leeuwarden has been located at Nieuwestad 113 in Leeuwarden. It is a shop with a wide range of unique products. Whether it concerns coffee, chocolate, a functional household item, a beautiful sculpture, or a piece of jewelry, they all have one thing in common: the products are made sustainably in non-Western cultures. Because the supply chains are short and the Wereldwinkels themselves do not (want to) make a profit, the producers receive a fair price. This allows them to build a dignified life with a good home, good food, education for their children, and often good medical facilities as well. By purchasing products from the Wereldwinkel, you contribute to a better future for Fairtrade producers.

Made with respect for people and the environment
Our products are made with respect for people and the environment. Many items are made from recycled materials and natural products such as glass, wood, stone, paper, and tin. Our collection of Fairtrade jewelry is affordable and very diverse in (precious) metals and (precious) stones. The food assortment distinguishes itself from the Fairtrade items sold in supermarkets because they are generally not standard products but rather somewhat more exclusive. You can find a beautiful collection of tea, coffee, chocolate, and wines, among other things.

In addition to a basic collection, our buyers are constantly looking for new products, making it worthwhile to take a look regularly. The store changes almost weekly, so there is always something new to discover.
