Collage Charter Elisabeth
Collage Charter Motor Ship Elisabeth is a so called "luxury engine". These ships were called 'luxury engine "because the accommodation for the skipper and his wife at that time was quite spacious and therefore deemed luxurious. The ship was built at the Kroeze yard in Hoogezand in 1930, ordered by the firm of Bakker, a transportation company in Amersfoort. The ship was used for transporting goods between Amersfoort and Rotterdam / Vlaardingen. In the fifties, the truck took over and the Elisabeth was sold. After several owners the Hofman family bought the ship in 2000 and converted it into a passenger vessel which had multiple purposes: (painter) trips, bed and breakfast and workshop space. The looks of an old ship remained, but there is also much attention to art and comfort. The ship still has the original "Brons"engine from the famous engine builder "Brons" from Appingedam, Groningen. © Collage Charter 2010
