Historical Center Leeuwarden
The HCL is the center for Leeuwarden's historical heritage. Thousands of linear meters of historical documents, from the Middle Ages to the present day, are preserved and made accessible here.
Often in collaboration with related institutions, the HCL organizes various historical events. These include courses and lectures, as well as the annual Open Monument Day, Archaeology Day, and the Frisian children's activity week 'Help pake en beppe de vakantie door'. The HCL also offers a wide range of programs for education.
Several exhibitions tell the history of Leeuwarden. There are weekly historical lectures and many other activities.
