How vulnerable we are – as humans, as a species, as part of a larger whole – that question forms the heart of the exhibition.
Van der Pas starts from a field of tension that many recognize: her dismay at environmental damage, war, and human hubris stands alongside her profound wonder at the power, unpredictability, and beauty of nature. We are not placed above or outside of nature; we are interwoven within it. It is precisely in the misunderstanding and the conviction that the world belongs 'to us' that our vulnerability reveals itself.
Van der Pas selected works by Maria Leeflang, Miranda Bosman, and Herma Betten that fit the theme. They each add their own aspect, concrete, tangible, and symbolic.
The exhibition is on view from June 6 to September 27, 2026.
