In Steen in de vijver, we follow a group of young people who have just heard the news about Rieneke. How do they deal with it?

Imagine: someone you know only vaguely through mutual acquaintances cycled into the water and died. Can your birthday party that evening go ahead, or should you cancel it out of respect? And what if you have never spoken to that person and you still have to cry all day because you are so shocked by the news – is that inappropriate? Because there are people who should be crying much more than you?

Rieneke cycled into the water. In *Steen in de vijver*, we follow a group of young people who have just heard the news about Rieneke. How do they deal with it? Far from all of them knew her well. Yet the news hits like a bomb. The idea that a life can end just like that leads to life-changing insights, unexpected choices, and uncomfortable questions.

The site-specific performance *Steen in de vijver* takes place in the Leeuwarden-Oost district. In a park, on a parking lot, by a garden gate, and in a children's playground. You walk from scene to scene in small groups.
