The special thing about this Brockes Passion is that the Passion is composed from all four gospels. Not only the text, but also the music is particularly intense. It is one of the first oratorios Handel wrote and from the very beginning he shows his most passionate and emotional side. It is a passion with operatic touches to dramatise the Passion.
