WereldsWad foto-expositie van Marijke Talsma
19 October, 26 October and 4 more days
WereldsWad foto-exhibition by Marijke Talsma at Cultuurpodium Dorpskerk Huizum,
Marijke Talsma has been strongly connected to nature all her life. Nature is her faith. Being outside in all types of weather, endlessly inspired and moved. Nature in all its facets and always in motion is for her an inexhaustible source of creativity and gives her the feeling of freedom and energy. Photography has long been her great passion. Camera and computer technology make this extra challenging. With photography you can play endlessly, show something in different ways. Even something that seems unreal but is reality.

Friesland has many beautiful and special places, one of which is perhaps the most beautiful: the Wadden islands! Every time Marijke is on the coast or when she visits one of the Wadden Islands, she finds happiness again. The variety of plants and animals, the stillness and the menacing, the drabness and the colours, the change of seasons and the tide and also the vastness. ‘Gorgeous’.
With her photographs and compilations, she aims to move and amaze people, to inspire and also to show our vulnerability and that of nature.
An all-encompassing and a surreal image of the Wadden islands is what characterises her compilations. An ode to the Wadden Sea. She is proud to show this WorldsWad exhibition.
On 2 November, due to the organ concert by Theo Jellema, the exhibition is not accessible.
On 23 November, the last afternoon of the exhibition, Henk Tameling, author of the book ‘De slag om de veerboten’ (The Battle of the Ferries), among others, will give a 45-minute introduction about the Wadden islands and the islanders at 2.00 pm and 3.00 pm. About the unique nature of the Wadden area.
The speaker draws on material from his upcoming non-fiction books and alternates the talk with his own poems and with historical photo material.
There is limited parking space near the church. Visitors can park - a short walk away and free of charge - in the large car park opposite Intratuin (south side of Tijnjedijk).
