The Mata Hari Walking Route is an A3 map featuring a walking route and stories about the life of Mata Hari in Leeuwarden and beyond, and also passes by the best museums and exhibitions.
The Mata Hari walking route is a walking trail following in the footsteps of Mata Hari. The route follows the places from her life in chronological order. The map features short stories about the places of Mata Hari's childhood in Leeuwarden. Her later life outside Leeuwarden is also briefly described. Along the way, you will discover Leeuwarden, pass by interesting exhibitions, and spot Mata Hari in many shop windows.
The route is approximately 5 km long and starts at Mata Hari's birthplace, but you can also join at other points along the route.
