SPARK
The artist, Daan Roosegaarde, has already attracted hundreds of thousands of visitors all over the world with his latest show. After Melbourne, Bilbao and London, it is finally our turn. The national premiere will take place in the evenings of the first weekend of November at the Oldehoofsterkerkhof in Leeuwarden. The shows are accessible and a party for everyone, young and old, and completely free!
It has a hypnotic effect and brings peace, just like a campfire. “You can sit and look at it for hours, or linger for a moment during your evening walk with the dog,” says the artist himself. It brings people together.
Roosegaarde's wish was to modernize the tradition of fireworks, inspired by the magical light of fireflies. In this way we can see SPARK as an ecological alternative to (noise) polluting fireworks. It invites everyone to be part of an environmentally friendly future.
